On 25th June, the last day of the graduation showOld and new collide
Drap in a dress, a frail frame bent like a chair
Strolling up from the sloping road to the entrance of AVAReturning to the show
Deceptive ploy
To patronize, to punish
Hidden under a smug facade
Whom turned a blind eye to
Hanging on a clear plastic chair, like a statue
In the sunshower
Stepping into the shrine
For three hours
Little by little
It's still ticking inside, lingering,
Tracy Kwok was born in Hong Kong, and obtained her BA in Visual Arts from the Academy of Visual Arts at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2022. She describes herself as a "digger" that delves into her deepest childhood memories through shadow work. She excavates fragments hidden within ruins, and scattered around survival and loss. She explores the paradoxical nature of love and violence, and the relationship between self and the primitive through mediums ranging from performance art, photography, and videography. She draws inspiration from religions and horror movies, both of which provide avenues for the intricacies of human experience. The color red holds a special fascination for the artist and has become a signature of her. The way she presents is fragility, gloom, and hope.
